Would like to take this opportunity to thank all that worked with us to make this season a successful one. It's customers that appreciate their cotton being ginned in a timely fashion that helps us create a quality product for the textile industry. To preserve that aspect of Southeast Missouri agriculture will continue to be one of our goals here at the Matthews Cotton Company.  Chris

Matthews Cotton Co.

Located ¼ mile west of the intersection of State Hwy 61 and State Highway H, Matthews Cotton Co. was built in 1962.  Mr. Robert Matthews and the Matthews Agency founded the gin.  The gin is currently managed by Chris Matthews.

In 2002 the gin was upgraded to the 21st century with new sentinels and the implementation of Inteligin.  The Inteligin system is an on-line fiber quality management process and procedure that is designed to monitor, control and optimize a cotton ginning system.  Sampler stations are located at two locations, where color, trash and moisture data are gathered in real time.  This facilitates the ginner in making quick decisions regarding how the cotton should be ginned.  He can tell at a glance what the temperature, speed, and moisture content is.  He can make rapid decisions if manual changes need to be made.  The result is a higher quality of cotton and faster ginning.

Inteligin also provides a client station where information is gathered and the gin manager or producers have access to reports regarding the crops.  These reports can be obtained in the gin office on a real time basis.

Information regarding ginned cotton is uploaded to Quickfarms every night.  This information is delayed as the upload is done nightly and not on a real time basis.
